r0bbie -> Sabicas Danza Arabe (Damasco) wanted (May 11 2007 16:55:27)

Hi,

Does anyone have a tab for Danza Arabe (Damasco) from Sabicas?
This guy is playing it as played by Sabicas (more or less)

I have some tabs with the same name but it's not how Sabicas plays it on the CD "Flamenco by Sabicas."

Rob.

It's in Alain Faucher's book Danzas Arabes, from affedis.com. Staff notation and tab.

No, nor do I have any interest, etc.

I just posted an accurate answer to the question. Of course, if someone wants FREE tabs, that's another matter. But this wasn't stated. Maybe it's taken for granted here?

actually yea .... I think whomever request a tab is expecting a free one [;)]

but the reasons I asked you the above question is that you replied to many threads referring to affedis so that made me wonder [:D]

The answer to that's simple as well: Alain Faucher has done more flamenco tabs (by a very large margin) than anyone I know. He's been doing it ever since I can remember, and I've been playing over forty years. They're also extremely accurate.

It's a pity they're so expensive, of course; it's often seemed to me that he'd make more money if he lowered the price and thus sold more copies. But that's for him to decide.

I totally agree [:)] his accuracy can't be found anywhere else
I have couple of his books and willing to buy more in the future but as you mentioned they're crazily expensive for ordinary books

btw welcome to the forum [:)]

Thank you.

I see most people are asking for tabs instead of staff notation: I used to do tabs all the time since they're much quicker and easier to write than old those dots. But since I got a computer (in 1989) I've done things in Finale, for a variety of reasons -- not least because I write for Classical Guitar magazine.

I'll have a poke around and see if I can find those old tabs. They're in pencil, so they may not scan that well, though.

Paul Magnussen -> Diego del Gastor—Soleares (Nov. 17 2010 19:47:54)

OK, I found a few things. Here are some nice syncopated soleares of Diego's in staff notation and tab.

Damn, I meant to start a new thread. How do I do that?

Paul thank you very much for the Diego's tab [:)]
