Sorry it was a bit of a loaded question. Granaina like most fandangos type forms, usually takes on phrases in 3's, at least with arps and tremolos etc. The idea that it has tonal qualities vs Siguiriyas's dark modality, is because it IS a fandangos. Just a special one melodically. And about compas, once you know it, you can do any form in any compas. I have accompanied a singer with Granaina por bulerias. And Gypsy Kings have a Rumba version of Granaina. So siguiriyas would work too, just feel pretty weird. Try any fandango or Taranto/a type stuff in compas of Siguiriyas. Personally, I liked the bulerias versions. [;)] Ricardo
