Hola Tomas! I am sorry i did not get round to writing a review while the show was still on - i hope you enjoyed being part of it - you certainly looked very at home on stage!
i'm not sure i would be able to write a review now, but i really enjoyed the evening. for me the highlight was of course the guitar. i thought the actors were really good but definitely felt the female leads were stronger!!
as to your question
quote:

what extent the music provided by the guitarist is useful in helping to achieve the goal of creating the atmosphere of Andalucía in the early 20 century.
- i think the role of the guitarist was actually essential, otherwise to me it could have been anywhere in spain or even the mediterranean. the flamenco guitar to me was integral in providing the different atmospheres and enhancing the themes eg loss, happiness, danger etc, eg the seguiriyas at the end, and the alegrias (i think) in the party scenes. although the audience would not for the most part be familiar with the palos the moods evoked by the music were powerful enough for anyone to understand what they signify. for me the traditional nature of the music really helped set the scene and provided an authentic atmosphere that would certainly have been lacking without.
the only thing that i was not keen on was the mime, but i think that is a concept we British generally have a problem with!!
hope to see you down in sussex soon.
ps did i hear panaderos at the beginning, as the audience were sitting down??
