Hi, Govan used to be a sleepy little village on the banks of the river Clyde until the Industrial revolution took off several hundred years ago and Govan got swamped by the growing, expanding City of Glasgow. Glasgow grew to become the second city of the Brittish empire. Everyone looks at Edinburgh (Scottish Capital City) and that city is reffered to as the 'Athens of the North' If that's the case then Glasgow is 'Rome' and Govan was at it's industrial centre building huge ships like the QE2. Anyway, the point is that Rab C Nesbit came from Govan and Billy Conolly and I both went to the same school in Govan, so it is with great pleasure that I can now invite you all to tune into Sunny Govan Radio which launched on 28th March 2007.
