Jon Boyes -> Fandangos DeH falsetas por baile (Mar. 20 2007 19:38:49)

Played Fandangos De Huelva for the first time for the dance class last night. Had a blast and my Eliasson blanca sounded AWESOME [:)] Who needs amps at dance classes? [:D]

Anyhow, we have a show coming up in a few weeks - no singer- and I need some falsetas that will work well with the dancers. All the stuff I can find is a bit too fancy, difficult and 'solo guitar' orientated, or its Juan Martin..

Anyone got some cool falsetas to share/point me at that are fairly easy to cram?

Do you know pepe habichuelas ncuentro book? There he plays his fandango with many easy falsetas which are good for dance.

Don't have it, though I've seen the video. Its on Youtube so I could work them out but I am a bit short of time.

Hi Jon,
you could create some chord progessions in place of the coplas-almost as good as a falseta and easy to do. Then just appregiate or add melody notes as needed[;)] Resolve into the standard F E7 Am G F thing.

Hiya Mark, yeah I was kind of doing thatalready, just thought a bit more melody would be nice., and a bit more variety.

Actually I've just found a nice easy trad falseta by Norman Kliman that does just what you describe -fleshes out the tradional copla accompaniment. Number one here:

Jon

I agree with Doitsujin

Very good relation musical quality/ dificulty

I´ve send you a mail.

It makes me very glad that you like the guitar I made you and that it serves what you use it for. [:)][:)]

Jon, I wasn't thinkin of the trad chords, but using different chords/progressions/voicings to create a modern sound in place of the coplas. But I agree that the Pepe stuff is excellent. I saw it on you tube yesterday. I've got the VHS, but not the book. And the stuff on Norman's site is cool too.
