For all interested flamencos, I have just put up my Rafael Romero 1A Blanca on Ebay. It is only two years old, lightly played, and in excellent condition. Why am I selling it? Because its a waste for someone with no time to play... and... ummm... baby on the way =)

Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260096307981&rd=1&rd=1http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260096307981&rd=1&rd=1

I also have a couple very nice traditional cejillas, some strings, instructional books, and an Ergoplay adjustable guitar support for all of you who would like to save your back. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZridetheelementzQQhtZ-1

Thanks guys! Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Also, I will ship internationally.

A year or so ago I picked up a Rafael Romero model 120 negra. I didn't really need another guitar, but I couldn't pass up the price and I could use it as a beater. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The model 120 is no longer available and was built by Rafael's assistants and is just a hair rough in a couple of places. Now granted, the tone isn't world class, but I can easily say it’s in the league of a bunch of $3,000 guitars I have played, and I have less than a grand into it.

It’s my understanding the 1A is primarily built by Rafael. I haven’t played a 1A, but if its like his low end 120 like I have it should be outstanding. I think JB is selling himself a bit short. To bring a 1A into the US with shipping and duty it would be closer to $3,000. Ole Flamenco has it listed for something like $2,500 plus shipping and duty.

Rafael is very good flamenco player and knows what they are supposed to sound like.

Yes, it is a fantastic guitar, but I am just trying to recoup my original investment... I am not greedy. If anyone in the foro remembers a while back, I had a huge beef with the Ole-Flamenco team in Spain... I had originally ordered a Sanchis 2F which they said would take 4 weeks. Well, it turned out to be almost 9 months until they sent it so I started bad mouthing their company in the forums because of their total lack of communication. In turn, they hushed me up with a Romero 1A at their cost.

So, while the 1200$ starting point is still below what I paid, I am sure it will reach where I need it to be... besides, 1200 bucks in my pocket is better than a beautiful instrument sitting in my room and not being played... like I said, it needs a new home.

JB,

All I can say is, if I weren't "guitar rich" and "asset poor", I'd be nailing that baby for 1,200 clams.

I remember your plight with the dealer you got it from. I had almost the same experience with them as well.

Same here... except I'd be keeping it =) Not a total loss though... I still have some gorgeous acoustics. I think its the fact I have 5 guitars sitting around courtesy of what some of us like to call GAS "Guitar Acquisition Syndrome"...

But, I think the flamenco was the first to get the axe due to how little I have actually played it... I think I may have slipped out a whimper when I heard the concept of selling one of my guitars
