loogiestloo -> New website (Mar. 13 2007 17:38:57)

Hi everyone, I have recently completed a website selling flamenco, classical and electro-classical guitars and are due to sell a number of accesories soon. I would appreciate if anybody would be able to take a look and give me any feedback. I am a flamenco guitar player myself and realised that there is not actually many websites selling these guitars out there so thought i would set one up myself.
P.S I hate it when people advertise on forums but thought i would let everyone know anyway :-)
Thank you

Hello Nice site, and yes you are right! I have been looking for a quality flamenco guitar for some time now in the UK but the number of retail outlets are limited.
Do you intend to hold a stock of used instruments or are you focussing only on new models?

nice website!
good design.
Wish you luck with your new business.

Hi, I'm intending to stock used ones as well as new models in the not so distant future. I think i will put quite a lot of time into this and provide a number of free resources to help flamenco guitarists . Thank you all for your feedback.

Nice website- Congrats! But I think you should improve your selection of mid-range guitars... like Sanchis Carpio, Amalio Burguet, etc. Lots of aficionados don't want to buy the cheapo brands like Yamaha and Cashimira, but would rather go for something more authentic and with a bit more quality. They probably can't quite afford a Conde, which is why guitars in the £400 to £1000 price bracket are big sellers.

Also, try and contact Ykabban (another forum member) who makes beautiful handmade cejillas (capos)... I'm sure they would sell well.

Good luck!

I agree with James.

I mean i wouldnt buy Camps or Alhambra.....but would buy for example the cheap Sanchis Carpio models like 2F Cypress or F03 Rosewood for same price.

You should include these models in your shop.

Excuse me!! Have you ever played a Cashimira? I have a 105 and it really is a fantastic guitar. A local Luthier recently commented on the quality of the woods used in the construcion.
Ok, the 105 is towards the top end of the flamenco range, circa £1000-1450EUR-$2000. I do believe , however that it is an excellent intermediate level guitar.
I have visited the workshop in Gata de Gorgos. I was made to feel welcome and got a guided tour, even though they were very busy.

You know, my dad had a choice to make. he had about 20 grand and needed a new car. he couldn't decide whether to get a top of the range Skoda, or a low-end Audi. well, IMHO it wasn't a difficult choice. If your gonna spend 20k on a car, you don't really want a Skoda, do you? Even if it is good. We convinced him to go for the Audi, and the bottom line is that he is very happy with it. sure he could have had a few extra bonuses thrown in if he had bought the Skoda. But IMHO even a LOW-END Audi is preferable to a HIGH-END Skoda, and the quality and reputation of the Audi speaks for itself.

Now most mid-range guitars won't cost you 20k, but the comparison is similar. Unless the Cashimira is a real Canon, you'll be better off with the Sanchis Carpio, if they are the same price. Every maker makes a few duds, so try before you buy. But given the choice between a Cashimira/Alhambra and a Sanchis Carpio of the same value, I would go for the Sanhcis Carpio.

Mmm, maybe a top of the range car versus a bottom of the range one is a bit of a misleading comparison. The idea is that the Skoda and Audi my father considered buying are in the same price bracket. But because Audi cars are more expensive and luxurious than Skodas, the Audi falls at the lower end of the Audi pricerange, whereas the Skoda falls at the top end of the Skoda pricerange. so you're getting two similarly priced cars with similar technical features, but the Skoda falls marginally ahead due to a few extra gadgets and gismos. As I said, despite the Skoda "appearing" to have some advantages, I would still prefer to own the Audi.

Hehe I like the car analogies! I'd prefer to drive a Ford GT, but there you go... Obviously website is just up and running but will be trying hard to include more models and more variety of makes. Am looking into the sanchis carpio models at the moment and would like to get my hands on one to see how they play.

JBASHORUN -> RE: New website (Mar. 19 2007 19:31:15)

while you're at it, you might wanna consider stocking the Yamaha. I KNOW its a cheapo guitar... one of the cheapest. But for the price it its pretty good, and better than some of the others in its pricerange.

Obviously I'd prefer a good Conde, but until then...
