hi! i just got one flamenco guitar which sadle divided in 2 parts, one contained 3 triples and the other contained 3 basses. is that normal?

This is not common. I have seen some pickup transducers that use a split saddle, in fact I used to have one.

Yeah, that is strange unless there is some miss balance going on. Are you sure there is no piezo pickup under the saddle???

Hi Loop,

I have seen this a couple of times on classical guitars, where the saddle is divided into two or three. If it is nothing to do with pick-ups, it is to improve the intonation. These days, a lot of makers compensate the saddle (not so much with Flamenco guitars.Don't know why) this is just another way of doing that.
But no, it is not very common.

hi:
it obsolutely noting to do with pick up. it's a china made for export flamenco guitar model try out, just one, no label. it almost similar like yamaha cg171sf(color,solid spruse top, shape). except it has 2 sadles and 2 grooves. yeah, very strange. the action is higher than yamaha 171, but the sound is ok. i can't hear apparently which one is better.
