Anyone here heard of or played a Domingo Esteso Reedition model. Several months ago I was about to invest in it but due to personal reasons I stopped the process.

Any feedback would be appreciated on quality/sound you , anuthing

Probably you can find a REAL esteso for the same price. I know of one person right now that has one for sale 15k. I have not tried the "re edition", but if I were you I would save the money for a guitar that you KNOW is really good. Or for that money, you could get a couple of nice used guitars.

Hay Alexandro,

I thought by now you would have bought the guitar.

Anyway, all I can tell about the guitar is that it is a very delicate, light and powerful. Sounds like a Barbero or old Ramirez, similar to Sabicas sound. It is not like a modern flamenco guitar AF25R or A26. It has a small body and very very low action and extremely easy to play. The attack is very sharp and quick.

Keep in mind that this guitar compares to high end collector guitars like Santos or Barbero value wise.

As to what Ricardo is saying about getting a Real Esteso, I see his point if you can find one at a condition that is similar to the Reedition. Also, Of course having a Real Esteso is a treasure. Sound wise, the Reedition can be very similar to the Real one if not better due to the guitar construction improvements over the years!

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ricardo and TK, now I have an idea about the instrument.

TK- I had to invest my money somewhere else otherwise I was planning on buying the guitar then.

Always try before you buy to know for sure.

Just out of curiosity:

which guitar construction methods have improved over the years???????

Hi Anders,

I think Lester Devoe use to make small bodies guitars with less volume. He has changed his style to a "BETTER" one now with more volume and bigger size.

A lot of luthiers say, as they get older, that the quality of their construction improves over the years simply based on experience. Which I think makes sense in everything!

I am sure you are learning something new everytime you are constructing a guitar NO? So the next one should be better!

The ones of whom ever is trying to sell his own guitar of course![:D] And the improvements, though small, are a secret![;)]

Seriously, folks should read the book by Ramirez "Things about the guitar" before making crazy comments about construction. That really opened my eyes to certain things. Anyone know of any other good books along those lines??

Ricardo
