Padre -> 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 6 2007 21:15:29)

2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra w/ True Brazilian Rosewood (dalbergia nigra)

Offered is a spectacular SOLID Brazilian flamenca negra by the highly regarded Spanish luthier Anders Eliasson. This Brazilian flamenca negra is in another league - powerful, resonating right through your chest, great separation and clarity, trebles bright and clear, and mid-range delivers that authenitic flamenco tone. Balance through all the registers, making the a great flamenco for nuevo flamenco, and flamenco puro forms like Tarantos, Zoronogo, Granadinas, Tientos, and Seguiriyas. It is also a great choice for playing classical, latin jazz, and bossa nova.

PRICE 3,350 USD. THIS GUITAR IS A HUGE VALUE - OLD GROWTH, IMPRESSIVELY FIGURED SOLID HIGH GRADE BRAZILIAN TONE WOOD (d. nigra - the real thing) HAS A BIG COLORFUL VOICE. The German spruce top is also fine old growth with excellent silking, the Macassar ebony fretboard has a beautiful bit of dark brown striping. The finish is all French polish, the best for tone, and the tuners are top-of-the-line Gotohs. The bridge features an improved 12-hole tie block.

Condition is AS NEW though listed as used, with no dings or fingernail wear to the top, no cracks, no issues whatsoever. A quality case is included.

Measurements are: 650mm scale, 52mm nut with 41 mm string distance. Action is superb, just under 3mm at the 12th fret, WITH NO fret buzz, it is perfect. I had Yuris Zeltins in San Diego put a new nut in making to a standard 52mm nut with 41mm string distance, ideal for easy playing.

You will have to search far and wide to find a better negra anywhere near this price. Anders Eliasson makes his flamencos using entirely hand tools, please visit his website at www.eliassonguitars.com. This guitar is the one in his right hand on the home page. If you go to the MUSIC section, you'll hear that Anders plays a pretty mean flamenco as well.

My reasons for selling are stricly financial. I will offer a 3-day money back trial period if you buy it because I am highly confident you will love it. It must be return as same conditon as received.

Email me at risen@biotrak.com for more pictures.

Man, that's a beauty. I'll bet that one's going to sell quick.

Sorry Padre, but I find this advert a bit cold and insensitive given Anders is a good member here and we all feel we know him well.
If I wanted to buy one I'd rather contact Anders direct.
Just the way I feel, others might dissagree.

Hi all

I´ve had a few mails about this guitar. How it is etc. So I will respond here. This is not something I normally will do, but since the guitar has a special story I will tell it, just to clear up things:

The client who bought this guitar had tried a negra of mine which he liked. The client of that Negra wanted a dry sounding Negra with short sustain. This I made him and he was happy.
The client of this guitar told me after having tried the first, that he wanted a Negra with booming basses and lots of sustain. This I made him. (this guitar) He wasn´t really to happy. I got a mail from him a while ago saying that he had sold this guitar and that he had bought number one and that it had everything a Negra should have. He preferred dry sound with short sustain over Boomy basses and lots of sustain. He agreed that he had ordered something else but that he preferred what he first tried.

I learned alot from that story. I now ONLY build my sound. Not that its better or worse. But this way there wont be any mistakes and words dont describe sound or personal taste very well. So from now on dry sound and short sustain basses in Negras.

Back to this guitar. I liked it. I found it very inspiring and not that boomy or sustainy. Most probably it has opened up nicely if it has been played..... Its a year ago I saw it.

Jim:

This is the classified section not the discussion forum. Most people have never seen, played or owned an Eliasson guitar so mine might be the only direct testimony you can find on foro flamenco. The advert speaks highly and positively of Anders, with all due respect. Let's not have sacred cows.

This is an opportunity for somenone interested in an Eliasson flamenco to get one now, in like new condition, at a good discount. It is a outststanding negra, I hate having to sell it and I'm sure Anders does not like it in the classifieds any more than I do.

Larry

Jim Opfer -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 7 2007 16:44:34)

As I said Larry, just the way I see it.
Anyway, I'm glad Anders has joined in the thread and I wish you good luck with the guitar.

Padre -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 7 2007 16:53:15)

Anders:

Thanks, I did not know the story behind the story!

Your are correct, bassess are huge, very resonant but there is rapid decay. As a result, there is excellent separation in the notes. Personally this guitar will be superior in an amplified format, usually the low frequency of the dynamic range is lost and your standard dry flamencos sound very brassy when when using a preamp IMO. This means a great flamenco for studio and amplified, but probably not so great for live accompaniment.

It has not been played much since creation so once it opens up, look out...

Hey, I think an important info is missing in the description: this guitar can't be sold to under 18' people ! It's clealy rated XXX [:D]

Anders, this one is truly a piece of art (even if you don't want it, craftman [;)]). Reminds a lot of the painting "L'origine du monde" by Gustave Courbet..

duende -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 7 2007 17:40:01)

it sounds like a good thing, basses with short sustain...realy dry sound.. mmmmmm
Anders. Next time i want a Negra. ok

a question. the top of the guitar is it possible to get that in a yellow colour like
like the yellow smilys are?[:)][:D][;)][:(]

I think yellow fitts the dark coulor very well.

Larry, I have no problems with my guitars being resold. Its all personal taste and not everyone wants the same. I mean, I bought a nice car, but it didn´t suit me, so I sold it and not because it was bad.

Henrik.

Is this the color? (Rons guitar) I like it, especially with this rosette.

el ted -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 8 2007 8:35:55)

Yo Jim,
I totally understand your point ,and sometimes get a queasy feeling myself as I suspect that some classifieds have a smell of dealer/quick-buck profiteering about them. A trait that is rampant in the violin world. But as Anders turns out more and more guitars over the years it is inevitable that a second hand market for his wares will develop. The question for me is - Is this website the right place to develop it?
I need a fag and a cup of tea now, as this has to be my longest post ever, and now my brain hurts!

duende -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 8 2007 11:24:38)

im thinking Tomatitos guitar in his Encuentro video. but the yellow might be enhanced by the studio lights.

Padre -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 8 2007 16:44:43)

To clear up some misperceptions, I am a flamenco player not a dealer/broker. I bought this Anders Eliasson negra when shipment for another negra I had previously ordered from Spain never showed. Not one week after buying the Eliasson negra from a gentleman in Texas the other negra showed, and because I paid hundreds of USD in duties, returning the second negra was not an option.[:'(] I took the Eliasson negra to my work place because my wife would kill me if she knew have many guitars I own.[;)] It gets played during lunch for 30-45 min every couple of days, hardly befitting of a guitar of this caliber. For financial reasons I must sell it now.

I play primarily flamenco puro stuff and my '04 DeVoe blanca is the axe for that duty. However, the Eliasson negra has superior harmonics to any guitar I own and would be my choice for recording, and for new flamenco, classical, jazz, and the meloncholy (darker) forms of flamenco puro. Because of its dynamic range and SHORT sustain, it will be ideal for amplifying, so if it does not sell and I manage through my taxes, then I will have Yuris Zeltins install a high end pickup system.

If your looking for a flamenco with the above characteristics, please contact me, I don't think you will be dissappointed.

If you want to talk about yellow guitar tops, can you please take it to the general discussion forum as my thread is getting hijacked. Thanks.

Larry

Henrik, I think the lighting is a BIG issue on what you "want". Natural stained guitars appear white, or yellow, or even a bit orange depending on the lighting. Especially on photos. Also, in my experience, the natural finished guitars that start out "yellow" or "white", change over the years. They get darker, more yellow, or a darker yellow over time. The Sanchis I have looks white out in the sun. On the vid I loaded at Todds, it looks yellow. Indoors it looks tan. In my kitchen it looks yellowish orange. My bright red tomato guitar looked pink on Todd's Camera.

Anyway back to the topic. Gonna put a pickup in it if it does not sell???[&o]

Padre -> RE: 2006 Anders Eliasson Flamenco Negra Brazilian (Mar. 15 2007 17:54:03)

The good news is that it did sell and is on its way to a another performer. Thanks much for everyone's interest.

Larry
