I started with the Graf-Martinez Video. It was a great starting place. There are also some free lessons over at flamenco-teacher dot com as well as some excellent non-free lessons. Youtube also has some pretty cool videos that demonstrate proper flamenco technique. Watchout tho, there are some that are mislabeled as flamenco - but that's another thread. There's tabs on this site where the members have recorded themselves playing the sheet music they uploaded. There really are a ton of resources. When I was first starting out, it was recommended that I start with the 4/4 palos like Tangos and Rumbas etc, and then progress to the 3/4 6/8 palos. It was also suggested that when I started the latter, to begin with Solea as Doitsujin suggested. Well, needless to say, I was more interested in Alegrias, so started to learn that palo instead of Solea. Learn whatever is going to keep you interested, Solea just seemed too slow and melodramatic for me in the begining. Having heard some really beutiful Soleas recently (check out Duende's Yerma video upload in the upload section), I have started to develop a better appreciation of the palo. P.S. Welcome, if it's flamenco you want to learn, you've come to the right forum. Francisco
