What is going on with the 1934 Ramirez on ebay?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280087816481&rd=1&rd=1

The pegs look like they are worn into the peghead so far it is unplayable without repair -- either that or they are the wrong pegs. . . Someone asked, but the owner didn't really address the question.

Seems like this piece of history needs rescuing, but the owner makes me leery. What else is wrong? It must have been heavily repaired...

Any thoughts?

Take care... The box looks relatively sound, but you´ll never know what you get.

"THIS GUITAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY HAND RESTORED USING THE SAME TECHNIQUES AND MATERIALS THAT WERE USED IN MANUFACTURING IT ORIGINALLY. IN FACT THE RESTORATION TOOK PLACE BY A LUTHIER ONCE PART OF EMILIA RAMIREZ´S STAFF."

They just forgot to fix the pegs[:D]

That's a candidate for machines.[:D]

Couldn't one just drill out, plug, and re-ream the peg holes? Maybe put new peg in if these aren't original?

Seems to me the real concern is what the restoration job did. The guitar can't possibly have been played since restoration with the pegs in that shape, so how can you know what it sounds like?

The seller's claim that he took the strings off to take pics of the interior doesn't ring true. With those pegs I can't imagine it being strung in the first place.

BTW Stephen, what do you think about the pic of the guitar on my aviator.
I remember playing it at that time but it looks like a huge body now when I look at the photo?
