Adam -> Basic stringing question (Feb. 17 2007 17:30:21) Hey guys, sorry for the noob question! When restringing the guitar, at the top of the guitar should you put all of the free string through the peg hole, or just enough to hold on to while you tune it up? Thanks!

I followed those instructions (that exact site, actually) and saw the "leave only a little slack" bit, but then the strings (especially the high E) felt really tight and sure enough the high E broke today as I was tuning it! (I strung 2 days ago). Thanks for the reassurance :)
