legrec -> RE: NEW POLL-Youtube in uploads section? (Feb. 15 2007 11:27:00)

I also agree - Too much confusing when it's mixing youtube or other links and member uploads. When I go to the upload section to be inspired by members' playing, it's boring to have to identify the members' uploads and avoid the external links. There are clearly "internal" and "external" material, and as there are a lot of upload now, why not make two sub-folders in the upload section ? (as long as it's not too much bothering for Simon...) And i think it's probably useful and interesting to keep a "youtube" section here. Because it's not quite the same of just going by ourself, individually, in youtube. Here members are "selecting" the vids for other members, adding a comment, a question or whatever to the vids. And thus starts a discussion, most time very interesting. So there is really an "added value" of having an external link section in my opinion, rather than if everybody go on his own to see some vids on youtube. And Ricardo, as a beginer, I will add a x) in your "afraid to post" list : 4) Fear of the comparison with the overall level (good level) (and youtube vids are adding to this "fear" when it's "pro" vids, and even when it's "amateurs" vids because of the bunch of moquery and insults when throw at these vids (and I like to do it also[:D]) And for the "illegal" issue, it's not illegal for foroflamenco as long as it's only a link, not an embedded video/mp3/.... Youtube is making all it's possible to give the ability for other website to hold their vids, for business reasons, but in this situation you can be sued if the material is illegal. As far as I know, the legislation about copyright on the web still consider that making a link to an illegal material is not illegal. The illegal material must be ON your server to be sued...
