Thomas Whiteley -> Old women and back fence gossip. (Dec. 31 2003 17:47:50)

The little old ladies of the Irish Catholic neighborhood where I grew up in San Francisco, would hang out the wash to dry. As they did so they would relate stories of who did what, when and how. Every bit of detail was conveyed from one backyard to another. Shouting was essential in some cases, as the ladies might be several houses away from each other. Soon any story related that day was all over the neighborhood. By the way the houses were twenty-five feet from each other and consisted of two flats. Lots of people in a given area. Hearing about what the “other forums” have done, who said what and other bits of essential information are reminiscent of those ladies I mentioned above. Does it really matter what others say or think? Do you have to go on their turf to tell them off? Do you have to have a negative attitude towards all those souls? Must you condemn them? I am better than thou! You are inferior! I guess this is human nature to condemn others. It makes us better persons! Don’t forget to practice condemning others. It will make you perfect in no time, but I am sure such individuals that indulge in such activity have already achieved perfection. In more succinct terms, I am really tired about hearing negative things about others! It has nothing to do with flamenco or helping anyone except a few egos. You may not agree with me but I am expressing my opinion as others have expressed his/hers! Happy New Year!
