Carmen Linares, Arcángel, Esperanza Fernández, Canito are few that have collaborated on Miguel's cd.

What do you think of it?
The more I listen to it, the more I like it!
Maybe there's too much Gerardo influence from time to time, but anyway, its great.

Here's his interview:

Again the same story... There are so many great artists out there but noone seems to know about them... [:(]

I'd upload some parts but I dont know how...

Tenshu -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 22 2007 19:10:08)

I saw Miguel Angel a while ago in concert. Excellent guitarist, very sensitive playing. Everyone should look into this!

Doitsujin -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 22 2007 19:28:27)

I learned from M.A.Cortes. If anyone is interested the material he showed... just tell me. Only audio this time but highly playable and useable. Great solid player!

koella -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 22 2007 20:25:19)

Doitsujin, you can try this :

http://www.filefactory.com/

The upload don't work sometimes if the file is too big but it's one of the last free large filesharing I know...

hassurbanipal -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 23 2007 12:20:27)

it's nothing, see it as a favour, I own most of the roads in belgium so.....

Doitsujin -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 23 2007 12:53:48)

ok I packed two files together. He plays around 8-10 tangos flasetas in slow tempo and one file "extra-slow" for caracoles.
I think you dont need all the talking and fiddeling of the other people. So its packed in winmediafile around 6,9MB.

I used filefactory for upload. here is the link:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/1aa7d0/

You can see the filesize and my description there. But please dont ask me where they hide the download-button... I dont like these pages. Everywhere comercials but the dopwnload-button is hidden.

Have fun with the music. I like it very much. Its in tangos de granada-style- M-A-Cortes - style. Like on the CD patiarca.

Tschüsschen!

Thank you. Now i found it.

dyst0pian -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 23 2007 16:14:19)

I remember seeing a video a while ago, he was playing in a classroom with his students this exact tango, if you ever get around to tabbing some of this stuff , it would be appreciated im sure :o.

Doitsujin -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 23 2007 18:40:18)

There were no camera... I think he teaches everywhere the same... it was in 2002

I heared somebody playing his stuff. And this person played a falseta from this "collection". Maybe he teaches the same thigs 1000 times. But his way how to teach it was the best I saw till now. After the lessons I was able to play the stuff, use it for different things and learned some new chords. Very good lesson for beginners to get into tangos.

M.A.Cortes:
quote:

“There are no falsetas now, there’s music”

Thats a statement I like. Yes flamenco allways goes on. It renews. AND in a niceway. If I take a look at some modern Classic-guitar its very abstract but no music anymore. Thats the clue in flamenco. Its not just constructing some logical but very abstract harmonies. Its making music which comes from the heart. Isn´t it ?

No-one that is except for Mariquilla, Manolete, Antonio Canales, Javier Barón, Juan Andrés Maya, José de la Tomasa, José Mercé, Chano Lobato, Luis Heredia El Polaco, Morenito de Illora, Marina Heredía, Enrique and Estrella Morente, Carmen Linares all of whom he has worked with. He has toured Europe, Turkey, the States and Japan. He played on Omega and Estrella's 'Mi Cante y un poema" and won the Paco de Lucia award for best guitarist 1994.

He's hardly an unknown in flamenco circles.

Matic -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 26 2007 12:50:38)

So why not talk about him?

Kate -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 26 2007 17:37:00)

Why not indeed !!

By the way for anyone interested he sometimes does courses at Carmen Las Cuevas in Granada.

duende -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 26 2007 18:08:19)

now why wont he tour sweden?
theres a quite big flamenco circuit in Stockholm. Big for sweden that is.
If Gerardo Nuñez can im shure he can

not that i can promise anything but i DO know what people to mail to sort of make things "move"

dyst0pian -> RE: Miguel Ángel Cortés, ‘Bordón de trapo’ (Jan. 29 2007 15:52:33)

btw, i uploaded the video I was talking about, it's only 2-3mins long, but it does give you a good idea of how he teaches. You can also see the importance of compas, as the students not as advanced just strum compas during the falsetas.
