Jim Opfer -> Conde Negra for sale (Dec. 30 2006 1:36:20)

Hi Guys,

I have a Conde AF25 Indian for sale. It's this guitar;

£2,400 (That's UK pounds)

In very good condition, in fact, 'as new'. I can't say 'perfect' as there as some very very minor marks seen in certain lighting conditions, but if I walked into a shop and was told she was new, I would not know any better.
She plays very well and has a nice bright, loud Conde ring in all registers.
I have too many guitars, she needs played in and I won't spend that time with her so she's for sale.
If you are interested, let me know your e-mail and I'll send on some pics, if not, no problem.
I thought to ask here first.

It's not really 'composed' just a collection of themes I made up and play in a random order.

Some pictures
The marks on the head are rain drops reflected from the glass. The guitar is as new.

That's hard to answer.

Both guitars are totally different and physical things like guitar weight and the age of the instrument come in to play.

The Conde is 2003, not really been played, I'd say - brand new, so her sound is still very young. She's very crisp and clean, she has that Conde bell like ring and with very good volume, quite a big sound but she needs to be played more. I think she will be very good once fully opened up.
She is heavier than Ramirez and being new, I find I'm ultra carefull lifting her out the case and generally handeling her. A bit cautious.

My Ramirez was made in 69' beaten and battered when I bought her 5 years ago. I got her from a classical dealer who didn't seem to know or care much about flamencos and she was a snip at £1,500.
Right from the start I was amazed by her sound. Mature, clean and with a real 'yern' or cry in her voice. I guess after years of playing.
I feel very comfortable with her. She had pegs and I got these changed over to machines earlier this (last) year 2006. I don't have to worry too much about her taking a knock and I play her a lot. She is very very lightweight I think 1100gms.

You ask me to compare the sound but that is not possible they are just different guitars. Conde has a big sound but still young and Ramirez is very refined.

Jim Opfer -> RE: Conde Negra for sale (Jan. 5 2007 13:18:04)

First you wrote;

'can you tell me please the defrence between old ramirez sound like yours and this negra ?'

So I tried to explain. Then you write;

'i mean what you are gona do if you were in my position ? af25 ? or ramirez 73?'

How whould I know? Sorry, I can't help any more [&o]

Hi Jim,
I have e mailed you but not sure whether you received it. Iwas enquiring about the conde. Has it got a case and if so, would it be safe in transit if I bought it? Also how much would it cost for transit (any ideas)? Have to persuade the wife first of course.
I am in Birmingham so it's a bit far to come to try it out although it sounds good on your video.
Whilst I am writing this, can I recommend my teacher to any one in travelling distance. He lives in Bicester, his name is Rafael and is a professional player who has played all over the world. If anyone wants to check out his website the address is www.flamencoguitarist.co.uk

Jim Opfer -> RE: Conde Negra for sale (Jan. 9 2007 21:25:03)

Hi Guitarista21,

No problem with the distance, it has a hard shell case. Drop me a private message with your e-mail address and I'll send down some more detail about the guitar. She's stunning.
Incidentally, make sure and tell my buddy Rafa, I was asking for him.

Hugh -> RE: Conde Negra for sale (Jan. 9 2007 21:48:15)

I sent a solid electric seven string guitar with hard case from Lanarkshire to the London area a few months ago by Parcelforce.
It cost me around £30.00 fully insured. I'd imagine Jim's instrument would be much cheaper as the weight would be nowhere near what mine was.
It arrived in perfect condition.
There are more options out there, I just took the first carrier I saw due to the urgency of the deal. But it'll give you some idea.
