For instrumental Flamenco Guitar try some of Paco De Lucia's stuff (Eg. Fantasia Flamenca, Sirroco, etc). Sabicas also has some good stuff in the traditional style (eg. Flamenco Puro) More modern players are guys like Gerardo Nunez, who incorporate jazz into their songs (try Andando El Tiempo) However some people feel that "real" flamenco needs to have "cante" (singing). In this case I would recommend something by Camaron De La Isla (for example, "Paris 1987"). This is quite traditional cante. HOWEVER!!!! since you're looking for "commercial" Flamenco, that outsiders might like, I would recommend these songs: Estrella Morente: "Cockles" or "At the Top Of The Cerro De Palomares" The Gypsy Kings: "Volare" or "Baila Me" Paco De Lucia: "Solo Quiero Caminar" or "Rio Ancho" Paco De Lucia & Al Di Meola: "Rio Ancho/Mediterranean Sundance" Gerardo Nunez: "La Habana A Oscuras" or "Yerma" Pitingo: "Familia Habichuela" Tomasito: "Solea Punk" or "Cositas" BUT bear in mind that you're NOT really portraying an accurate picture of Flamenco if you choose these songs. Whatever you do- DON'T choose to play them Ottmar Liebert!!! Jb PS: tell Lionel that my offer is still open should he ever want to do so.
