Escribano -> New Stephen Hill Blanca - with video (Nov. 12 2006 15:17:55)

I filmed Stephen Hill in October down on the Granada coast. He has a new blanca for sale which he is happy to offer at a competitive price to the forum.

Any enquiries should be directed to Stephen via his website at http://www.spanishguitars.co.uk/

Hope you enjoy the film as much as we did making it, one sunny afternoon.

Awesome. Especially like the shop tour, and the scenic shots. Thanks for sharing this one.

Awesome video! The guitar looks great and sounds as good as it looks! Delicioso. More videos like this please. I want to see you guys drinking fino and eating jamon, playing different guitars. How about ander's shop too?

And what is the deal with Brazilian Rosewood (the classical gutiar)? There ARE new guitars still made with the stuff, or is that like a "black market" guitar? I mean I don't care if it is, I am really confused about it. Ramirez Book said it has stopped being sold legally in the 60's.

Ricardo

Hi Stephen.
Your workshop looks braw! and that stubble could come in handy if you run out of sandpaper up there in them mountains.
The guitar sounds great.
Keep well.

Ricardo
brazilian rosewood is still being sold legally..!? Since 1991 It has to have a cites cert showing where its from . This goes with the guitar and is updated each time you sell it on.
Some wood comes from old houses in brasil that have beams made from the wood..! check your house out, I may be interested..! Other wood comes from stumps that are just lying around, This wood can be beautiful but rather unstable as it has a lot of compression being from the base of the tree. There is also the illegal trade and when I buy, I have to be pretty carefull to know where its from.
There are many great alternatives though to Rio but it really is the king of timbers for the guitar but rather fickle

Speaking of jamon, I couldn't believe that when I saw it. Jeeze, there's a leg on the wall with fur still on it and they take it down and eat off it! I had some one night while drunk of course and it wasn't bad.

its one down from the top one, just some difference in the timber quality
