hi has anyone seen the film 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou'? I watched it on Saturday and nearly fell off my seat with excitement when I heard the stamp of feet that signify the start of 'La nina de Puerto Oscura' FOLLOWED BY PDL's rendition of Concierto de Aranjuez!

Sorry, a bit overexcited admittedly, but it is so surprising to suddenly hear flamenco in non-spanish movies, espeically in totally random underwater-themed films about killer sharks that looks like jaguars etc (it really is a bizarre film, good fun though).

Luckily I was sitting with my family at the time and was able to show off with my amazing knowledge of flamenco when the final credits proved me right!

yeah it is cool. But it is borrowed directly from the call and response of Sabicas and Carmen Amaya on "Queen of the Gypsies". I hope they reissue that one on CD soon.

Ricardo
