Although band members say they can hear me during accompayning, im not happy with the volume. The point is: I dont hear myself. Only when i do "extreme-pulgar" or rasgueado i hear myself, this is only because i use extra high tension bass strings (the others use normal tension!)

Its similar outside the rehersals. In a noisy environment (club) i have problems to understand people's talking, meanwhile they can understand each other though.

Sorry, what was that?

Just kidding. Seriously, maybe go to the doctor and have your ears checked out. When I was in college I got water in my ear from swimming and could not hear for 2 days out of one ear. It was wax, and they flushed it out. I realised I had been missing out on some high end frequencies, for YEARS. I always thought the loud rock drums from playing in bands in high school had took the edge off my hearing, but it was the wax build up. I clean my ears regularly now, every few months blast them with water. It really helps.

But that was me, there are more serious hearing problems folks have. So get your ears checked out just in case.

Ricardo

I was at the doctor's! That is what scares me, they found nothing! Values absolutely normal, even a bit better than the average.

I do that with my nose, LOL!
But seriously, how do you do that (at the doctor?) and isnt it dangerous, like infections?

Btw. i think i will just increase the distance to the other guitars. And maybe i just have to get used to the loudness of accompainment, just starting with it as a newbie...

maybe they hear the same as you, but that's enough for them.

Taranto -> RE: Volume (Sep. 13 2006 18:05:35)

It's not without reason it's called flamenco. The level of noise to music normally isn't proportional, not even close to.

At times percusion, clappings, the Ole 's are the only thing that can be heard.
