Hi Ed!

yes, so you finally checked this forum!

greetings, peter.

BTW, Did you know that Paco Pena had an artistic name called Paco del Sur?

greetings again.

Thomas Whiteley -> RE: Newbee (Nov. 17 2003 2:23:09)

If I am not mistaken Paco Peña also played under the name of Paco Aguilera, on the Capital recording "Introduction to Flamenco", used with the book "Flamenco Guitar", by Ivor Mairants. copyright 1958.

I did not knew that, never to old to learn.

1958, that is a way back!

greetings, Peter.

Tom,

Actually the name used by Paco Pena on that recording was 'Pepe del Sur'. Paco Aguilera was a contemporary of Sabicas, Escudero, Serrano, et al. He can be heard on a lot of the old cante anthologies as an accompanist. Not sure if he ever recorded any solo material.

Hey, we need to get together again soon. My left hand arthriitis has been getting better [;)] Say hi to Katy for me.

Hello Eddie;

The arguement about Paco Peña and that LP will rage for ever! [:D]

How is your schedule?

My mother will be 89 tomorrow November 18th! If you want to know about current events and politics she is the one to talk to, as long as you are not a republican! [:D] Would you believe - my own brother is a republican- the only one in the entire family!

Thomas Whiteley -> RE: Newbee (Nov. 17 2003 23:14:25)

I was born the same year as Paco Peña, and 1958 seems like yesterday to me! If you mention anyyear before I was born that truely seems like a long time ago! [:D]

Paco E. -> RE: Newbee (Nov. 29 2003 20:08:00)

Hello Thomas,

as a thread, (did I spell this right?) starter, You lucky guy with a mother like that.
And congratulations with her birthday.
Your mother is inspiring your brother, I think.
At this age, so active, in her mind, that convinst (right spelling?) him in his liberal thoughts. Bye the way, we both know that there always being people who needs help from someone else.

By the way, I am from Holland, and do you know what they saying here about Americas democrats en republicans? (Its not my opinion)

A republican in Holland is more `left oriantated` than a democrat in America.

regards, and a happy `after thanks giving` Guess who´s coming to diner?´ commercial

Ed

Thomas Whiteley -> RE: Newbee (Nov. 30 2003 3:14:39)

Ed;

When someone asks me the difference between a democrat and a republican I tell them this. A democrat gives the dog a bone and a republican takes it away.

We are the dogs and we do not get much even if we bark! [:D]
