Am looking to get this from Tom N, but I was seeking feedback and thoughts. I am NOT ever going to be PDL, so acompaniment, to me, is a lot more fun than working on falsetas in my house.

I have 4-8 dance classes a week that I can 'sit in on' here in San Diego... Some even with VERY good Spanish/Gypsy-born singers, so I'm seeking the best tool to help me improve.

Anyone have/put this book to use? Thoughts?

I have it. It is a good reference. You have to already understand the compas and concept of accompanying flamenco singers. Basically, it is a huge chord/melody reference or blue print for the various types of cante. Already the idea was touched on in Moraito's instructional vid, with superior playing and singing of course. But Merengue has a lot more cantes demonstrated. The best I have seen is Oscar Herrero's Solea and Alegrias, where you can try to accomp. the singer yourself. But assuming you have the idea of accompanying down, Merengue's vid/chord book is a great reference tool for guitarists.
