True, its mostly the fret- depending on how closely you position the capo to the fret... If you positioned the capo right next to, or directly OVER the fret it might make more of a difference, but I guess most people don't do that. I suppose its the FRET that acts as the nut, and the capo just acts to hold down the strings behind it.
