Hello evrybody

Does anybody knows the DVD of José Manuel Montoya called:
Bulerias step by step ?

Doitsujin -> RE: José Manuel Montoya (Jul. 24 2006 12:11:37)

Yes I know it. Forget about it. You can learn bulerias also as tousand other guitarrists by ear. And a lot cheaper.

****,... why am I allways so negative?? hmm.. I saw some samples of this DVD. And the people there arent sympatic for me. I got angry watching these people...I couldnt learn with this material coz I would break my TV before I learned something.
The same with Merengue de Cordoba. I was so close to put my boot angy in his face. AAAHH!!! GRRRR!!!![:'(] WWUUAAAH!!

sorry..[&:]

You are probably right. Could you suggest one video in particular?

Doitsujin -> RE: José Manuel Montoya (Jul. 24 2006 12:52:17)

Hmm videos to learn bulerias? I think other members would know some good ones. I learned in my first steps in flamenco with following other players while they played for dance. I only know videos for falsetas and technics. Not for groove... The encuentro videos are good for falsetas. Gerardos encuentro DVD is good for technics. For grooves hear much Tomatito.

Thank's for the advices Doitsujin and Nealf. About the complexity of buleria rythme, I've been working on for 6 months. Now, I'm looking for a good video for learning by ear, with transcription book for dificult things to get!
One says that Tomatito by encuentro is very good, but I'm affraid it is a little too difficult for me (and the price too!).

Don't bother. Tomatito bulerias is about as difficult as it gets. Very syncopated, very clever stuff. Not much use except to advanced players who want to learn his falsetas. Theres no actual 'teaching' in the video either, unless you regard falsetas played slowly as teaching.

Great fun to watch of course.

IMO Graf Martinez does a very good job of teaching basic bulerias compas, with a modern feel. He also shows bulerias palmas patterns in the video which I think is helpful, and in terms of falsetas, in the same way that Juan Martin gives you easy versions of Ricardo/Montoya, Martinez gives you simplified Paco/Tomatatio/Paredes.
