That was a cool example of text there Andy!
You could just sort of "speed read" it and got the whole thing despite the mixed up letters.
Very interesting!
I wonder if in a way, when we hear a sequence of notes we tend to finish or predict the next sequence?
If that next sequence is as we predicted, we find it fairly mundane.
If it disappoints us we don't like it.
But if it sounds like it's going to end the way we predicted but does a "funny turn" which wrong foots us in a pleasing way, then we think it's fantastic.
Just my thoughts here, but I think that sort of stuff goes on in creative Flamenco all the time.
Sort of like the life blood?

Anynone hve mor veiws on tihs?

Hmmm, 50/50, that's funny. I got roped into playing Pachenbel's Canon for a wedding gig this Saturday... and I'm finding it rather difficult to get ready. May have to simplify it, has some gnarly tremolo on the 2nd and 3rd strings, a bunch of awkward 5 fret stretch chords, and it goes above the twelfth fret several times. Very stress inducing on the left hand. And speaking of stress, if I play complicated pieces in front of crowds, I usually fall apart!

But anyways, if you have heard this piece or at least this arrangement, you can predict what's going on, oh about 100% of the time. Perhaps that's why it's so peaceful, or if you're in another mood, boring and repetitive.

I enjoy Pachenbel (playing on the piano and listening) and Vivaldi has a lot of rich ideas! I tend to like what I like and enjoy it too! Some people enjoy hating everything and have no time for anything else! [:D]

This thread got me thinking a bit on my way to work this morning. In the US, I believe most states have what are called "vanity" license plates for your car. For an extra fee you can have a custom message on your plate. In Oregon we are limited to only six letters or numbers. It's pretty ingenious what some people can do with six letters.

Here's just a few:

PD CASH On a vette

PEG LEG On a pick-up, the owner has only one leg

PHA Q You get the idea (the DMV guy must have been sleeping again)

PIKED6 Picked 6 (a lottery game), on a very upscale Mercedes

PILPUSR Pill pusher, on a pharmacist 1990 Chevrolet Corvette

So, see Florian, you are in good company!
