Hello hello. Very funny. [:D] I did carve up a lovely left-hander two weekends ago but last weekend I filed my salt-encrusted nails and had bash playing for Felipe's tangos and alegrias workshop in Belfast. He's great experience to play for become he can sing you the letra and because his compas is so clear. A parallel lesson with Ramon would have been better but we can't have everything all the time even if we want it, which we do!

So you see I haven't stopped learning (but I have slowed coz i am studying in the evenings and yes i surf too, it's marvelous fun and helps me to not grow up).

Mr Opfer, how's things with you? Tell me a joke.

Jim Opfer -> RE: Calling Emma VL (May 11 2006 19:30:58)

Surf! sounds greeeat! but where the hell do you surf in Belfast?

Jokes? Auch! All gone, life's got too serious and I've had to grow up a wee bit and get on with my real work. Anyway, how could I top my 'Lone Ranger' gag?

Felipe's a smashin dancer and Ramon does a bit of cante as well.

How's your guitar? Idea[8|] - why not have a go surfing on it, that way you could take a break every now and then to play a few tunes, get a bit of practice in, just a thought, have to look out for the rain though, don't want to get it wet.
(The smiley faces on the left hand side are never quite right)

Jim

Jim,
I met a guy who goes surfing every weekend...
I said "surfing?" (imagining him flying to Florida or something).
He said, "Yeah..the Moray firth...you need a wet suit, but it's good action there".

We learn something every day!

cheers

Ron

Jeez! Ron, that's still a bit of a hike from Belfast!

El Craic -> RE: Calling Emma VL (May 11 2006 21:08:08)

I could tell u where i surf but i'd have to kill u. We cant have loads of Aussies, as my very nice and distracting boyfriend spat, "taking our waves and our women".

Guitar okay. Practice disrupted partially due to injury a year and a bit ago and partially due to subsequent changes of habits and lifestyle. Still, it is nice to to get a bit of a opportunity to play for dance and to enjoy it, which is important. It is hard to retain an authentic interest without interaction with other aficionados.

I cant remember the Lone Ranger joke, I only remember falling off a polite English county pub bench listening to it [:D]

Hope you haven't grown up too much!

Yes, top of the road on the left hand side just at the right turn junction along to the Abbey Court hotel. I went in and asked for a set of Savarez but no joy. Nice wee shop but mainly trad instruments.
Small world!
