Miguel de Maria -> Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 27 2003 15:01:53)

We were mentioning under the "Canto" thread that young Behzad from the old forum very much liked the new Pele/Vicente Amigo album. And I stopped in and saw a sad development there:

"Hey Karenanne, I am leaving this forum because so many insecure people that I know like to talk about me behind my back and are jealous that I am young and a threat to them, but that is a whole other story. So lets continue our conversation privately. Here is my email: behzad_habibzai@hotmail.com
~Behzad"

Let's be glad we don't have this kind of thing here. Three Cheers to Simon and everyone else here!

Seems like he left before because he was not loved. Oh well, several members of that forum left and came back several times, were kicked off and came back. Reminds me of a song back in the mid 1950's called, "The Cat Came Back"! It seems that the owner of a cat wanted to get rid of the kitty and tried everything. Even put the kitty in a sack, tied the sack and dropped in into the river. But the cat came back!

Not to fear - me thinks the dude will be back and none the worse for wear. Just pet his back and make him purr.

Some people need the Internet for a source of social acceptance since they cannot associate with others in real life. They need to be stroked just the right way. It takes many forms. Get attention by quitting the forum! Boy I will show you! Or be intoxicated on drugs or alcohol and let your fingers think for your brain.

Regardless of ones age some people do not grow up. I would not worry though, as trying to survive is a full time job. Trying to worry about those who have problems is a waste of ones time.

Here kitty, kitty! I have a sack for you! [:D]

I have to say that although I feel for the kid, don't like to see him hurt or anything, that I posted it partly as a good-natured joke... it's a sad but kind of funny scene, no? I remember this one blowup he had a year or so ago... but I don't want to talk behind his back!

Year, FT still seems to have its fair share of bad feeling.

On a postive note, I thought Behzad posted a very interesting article on developing picado a while back. Sone great tips in there.

I actually posted a tongue in cheek sympathetic post, which was taken seriously by behz, or whatever he's called, also there was a thread on playing flamenco on a classical guitar, were Todd replied, "You cannot play flamenco on a classical guitar”, which I thought was a bit narrow minded coming from someone who plays with a pick.

I can sympathize with Behzad because what he says is true. For being young he knows a lot! plus he is a very good guitarist. It seemed that every time Behzad would post something, Todd would give him a ribbing. Jelousy maybe? I don't know. You would think that someone with Todds talent wouldn't be jelous of anything but he's done a lot of things that make you shake your head?

Behzad is young and sometimes it shows in his posts but that doesn't change the fact that he's good and is respectful of others. I don't blame him for leaving there. Especially since most of the regulars did.

I don't know if anyone here still lurks on the old forum but it's definately different. So many new names.

Miguel de Maria -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 30 2003 14:15:21)

Tom,
it's funny you noticed that! Behzad would post something, innoccently, and Todd would rip him! And then Behzad would be very accomodating and apologetic to TK. If anyone else ripped him, he would go right back, but TK was untouchable. Obviously just because he was the ace guitar player. I think Behzad has grown up a lot, he's a lot less snotty in his posts and in a year or two, might be ready for this place. Well, I don't know, used to be I couldn't stand him but he seems to have gotten quite a bit better.

TANúñez -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 30 2003 14:22:26)

Yes. It's like TK would post a response to him to get him rhiled up or something. Who knows why.

Hey are you ever planning on going back to Spain in the near future? I'd like to go down there and possibly attend El Carbonero's school but I'd like to go down there with someone who's already been there to hang out with and not feel so alone.

TANúñez -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 30 2003 15:15:45)

Cool. Maybe I won't have to travel all the way to Spain afterall. Although I think any American who plays flamenco guitar should try to visit the Motherland at least once in his/her lifetime.

So after attending classes in Spain do you honestly feel you came back a better flamenco guitarist? Any regrets?

Miguel de Maria -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 30 2003 15:49:00)

Tom,
I definitely came back better. Mostly because I was playing guitar 6 hours a day, and was able to focus on it very clearly. And I was around other dedicated guitarists, which is not my situation here. I am usually only around guitarists here when I am on a gig or rehearsing for one.

I regret that I didn;t have the opportunity to stay for a year or two. That would have grounded me nicely in flamenco, I think, gotten me a good start. That being said, I was lucky to get what I did and it was a great experience.

Hey Tom, I haven't been to Jerez but was thinking of going before the end of the year. We could always meet up with Phil? Wadda you think?

TANúñez -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 30 2003 21:35:10)

Hey Simon. That would be great. Let me know ahead of time like a month or so if you are going so that I can see if I can work things out.

Are you going for any particular reason or just to visit?

TANúñez -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 31 2003 0:15:08)

Well then Phil that's all the reason to go.

Escribano -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 31 2003 8:13:42)

I would like to go end of November/early December - just to visit some penas, maybe get some lessons from El C., meet up with Phil, whatever. I was thinking a week. Send me an email.

Escribano -> RE: Sad conclusion to the review (Oct. 31 2003 8:15:28)
