Is this AI-generated flamenco?

Mark2 -> RE: Is this the end? (May 19 2026 0:08:24)

Sure is. AI hasn’t figured out compas……yet. I’m sure it will. One thing is for sure-AI has better guitar technique than I do.

Arash -> RE: Is this the end? (May 19 2026 12:07:33)

Even with perfect compas Flamenco dynamics is really hard for A.I. to copy, I guess much harder than electric guitar and other stuff. But eventually .....

Hopefully all this A.I. BS will lead to more appreciation for live music and gigs, at some point in the future that will probably be the only thing A.I. can't do, unless they build Paco de lucia robots.

Ive read a few pieces on this. That ai won't be the doomsday we think it will.
Bit it will redesign our priorities and what is considered important roles/careers industries.
Basically one of then said plumbers will be the highest paid... tongue in cheek i thin bit makes the point. But it said that live Music, art, crafts, trades.... well rose to the top again. It will push us back to these wonderful things and traditions we have kinda lost sight of

This has already been true for quite a long time already.

Time to start apprenticing...

Arash -> RE: Is this the end? (May 19 2026 18:11:00)

I just replaced this broken bathroom sink with a new one alone.

I guess my future is now secured and A.I. can kiss my humanoid A....

Also accepting apprentices starting today!

Aim higher. The guys making the money will be the ones who employ the plumbers.

I really hope this comes to pass. I wonder about the future of the recording industry when I’ll be able to instruct AI to create a Solea with chacon singing and Vicente accompanying and watch it on a hologram. Or have it create an original composition based on a melody I sang in the style of Mozart. I could amuse myself for hours with that kind of entertainment. Can you imagine the level of instruction for all types of endeavors? There goes the teaching gig. That link I posted the op had spent time creating several ai videos. He wrote the letra for one of them. The singing was AI. AI mixed up palos in a few, having sig go into rumba, etc. It could be that the op doesn’t understand flamenco or that AI wasn’t given explicit instructions.

Smart - that way, the work can scale. I, on the other hand, have only 24 hours in a day to replace sinks, etc.

Arash, do you want to come work for me? Bring your friends too.

Mark2 -> RE: Is this the end? (May 20 2026 19:03:35)

This is the problem with musicians not being able to earn money from recordings. They can only do one gig at a time. I can imagine music supervisors using AI to create music for commercials and even movies, eliminating another revenue stream. In my small business I employed tradesmen. For a few decades I supplemented my income with music gigs. At some point I made more money taking a phone call than the best paying gig I could get. That’s when I asked myself why I was giving up a weekend day to drive a few hours to a gig.

But “Arash Plumbing Contractors” still has the lead because he already has the skill. :-)

Dammit... beaten again! [:D][8D]

You were driving to gigs because that got you happiness that money (through tradesmen) cannot buy. [;)]

Stu -> RE: Is this the end? (May 21 2026 8:04:39)

the end?....maybe not

I think the 1st few comments hold this up...

seems maybe this is a new wave of presenting music? in the face of AI.

Im sure this kind of content existed before AI but i think it proves humans/creatives/artists arent just gonn aroll over to the machines

I am wondering if that is really ai.. Sounds more or less legit to me. Unless facebook is not showing me a correct link.

Mark2 -> RE: Is this the end? (May 22 2026 6:28:14)

Yes, for the most part. Some gigs were so meaningful I’d have paid to be there. In some ways I did. A few were torture. Some were hilarious. It’s all been well worth it. The memories are priceless for sure.

It’s AI- read the comments. And listen closely and you’ll hear it’s not real. There’s no compas. The palmas are wrong. Scary how well it captured the vibe though.

It is called "for the hot chicks". Now when they make perfect robot groupies and send them to your gigs, then it is REALLY over. AI will own us.

Took me a few times actually.. The funny thing it is not always not in compas, you can hear a siguriya pattern here and there.. Its just being quite creative in morphing the rythm, in almost cante libre type of way.
It is indeed scary b/c if it takes me sometime to figure it out - the average dude out there wont be able to tell any difference at all.
And it is mostly average dudes that are the paying consumers.

That's a beautiful buleaririyaiento, just like Pastora Pavón used to sing [:D]

Ricardo -> RE: Is this the end? (May 23 2026 14:52:23)

It is time for some young musicians to come out with real live music that mimics AI to fool people.
