When guitarists attend one of the higher level flamenco guitar classes, for example the one Gerardo Núñez does yearly, or ones Manolo Sanlúcar ran before we lost him, or the ones Manolo Franco has participated in, they were often provided with some challenging technique or more rhythmic flamenco guitar studies. Do any of you have those in any written form you would be willing to share with me? I'm interested in any you'd be willing to share. There are many fabulous guitarists who have developed studies I've never had the chance to see or work on. I would be thankful for anyone willing to share what they can. I'd love to see any studies by Rafael Riqueni, José Antonio Rodríguez, Manolo Franco, Antonio Dovao, Luciano Ghosn, Paco Iglesias, Amir John Haddad, Eugenio Iglesias, El Entri, Ramón Jiménez, El Viejín, Dani de Morón, Enrique de Melchor, Paco Serrano, Chicuelo, Manolo Sanlúcar, Gerardo Núñez, Vicente Amigo, José Manuel Roldán, Jason McGuire, Adam Del Monte, José Luis de la Paz, pretty much anything from a significant flamenco guitarist you can share with me. I value dance accompaniment material too in any palo.
I understand that some of the material many of you may have might have been requested to keep just for you, and I understand and respect that. But there must be some material that can be shared with others. My intention here is to organize whatever I can find and work on anything that might help me grow.
I have a 7-year-old and work as an interpreter for Spanish speakers seeking medical treatment and I do private performances as a guitarist. I have been unable to travel to Spain since the 1990's because of how expensive it is to live in San Diego.
I, in turn, have some material I can share with those who share with me.
