RobF -> RE: what the .... (Oct. 19 2025 13:32:02)

I only watched the first couple seconds of the first and looked at the thumbnail for the second so I think I've seen enough to weigh in.... The first one with the guy flailing away in circles with the guitars in his hands and the second with the headless dismembered guitar bodies (well, tops) on the stairs are both not-so-subtle displays of the disdain held by dancers for the premier instrument of flamenco, the driving force so to speak, yes, the guitar. It's just jealousy. They simply can't handle the fact that in the hierarchy of Flamenco we have the guitar sitting wayyyyy at top, followed by the cante (sorry Morante), with the baile coming in a distant last, when anyone pays any attention to it at all. It wouldn't surprise me if they bring castanets into play at some point, just to add insult to injury. It's sad. Nobody watches this stuff. It gives everybody headaches. Remember, anyone can spin around in circles, kick their legs out wildly and fall down randomly given the proper dosages of alcohol. I do it all the time and nobody's called me an artistic genius for it. Where I come from it's just the way we are...
