RobF -> RIP Brian Wilson (Jun. 11 2025 20:49:49) Damn...another one. If you haven't listened to Pet Sounds recently today would be a good day for a refresher. If you've never listened to it, it's overdue. You'll recognize many parts of it. It's a masterpiece. Put The Beatles on notice. The man was brilliant. RIP Brian Wilson.

BarkellWH -> RE: RIP Brian Wilson (Jun. 11 2025 22:12:09) I didn't see it mentioned in the obituary, probably because the Beach Boys' later hits came one after the other, but their breakout 45rpm single was "Surfin' Safari," backed by "409." It came out in June 1962, and I remember it got lots of radio play in Phoenix, Arizona. Living in the desert, we thought it was pretty cool, and it spurred us on to many trips to California beaches. I remember several of us drove from Phoenix to Huntington Beach that summer, and "Surfin' Safari" was played on the radio for half of the trip. Rip Brian Wilson Bill

Manitas de Lata -> RE: RIP Brian Wilson (Jun. 12 2025 9:39:19) maybe the first tapes that i bought second hand , along Ac Dc , GNR , and i got hooked. Few years ago bought a best of , and i hear sometimes. Brian Wilson was pure genius , very ahead from his era.
