Silverio was not only a great singer, but also a wonderful person and a good friend of mine. His son, Juan, is a fine singer, just starting his career.

Awesome. I met and played for him in 1999 just starting out. He sang from Duquende’ buleria on Samaruco and I caught those tonos, he wrongly assumed I was a master accompanist. There used to be a live Kennedy Center Millenium stage clip archived 1999, but I can’t find it. It was embarrassing cuz I was such a novice. I guess he is the first “real cantaor” I ever played for. He seemed confident enough in my playing that he invited his girlfriend “la Keka” the following summer and I had to play for her and it was very difficult for me. I could not hear her when she sang front of stage with no microphone doing her Tango cante/baile thing, so I could not get the tonos. It was embarrassing and she was frustrated. I got the feeling Silverio didn’t understand why I could play for him pretty well, and not her. [:D] Wish they invent a Time Machine so I could go back and fix that show. [:D]

Keka is sobrina de Juan Villar. When I first knew her she was young, pretty and very abrasive. She married Silverio, had 3 sons, put on a lot of weight and became much more friendly.

The great tocaor Joselito de Puro is sobrino de Silverio and student of Paco del Gastor.

José Antonio Núñez Heredia, "Joselito de Pura" (Chiclana De la Frontera, 1987) lleva a sus espaldas una dilatada y fructífera carrera. Sobrino del cantaor Silverio Heredia, es también familia de los cantaores Rancapino y Orillo de Chiclana, lo que confiere a su estilo una sonoridad inconfundiblemente jerezana. Su primer maestro es José Luis Balao con quien estudia música clásica, solfeo, guitarra flamenca, técnicas de armonía y composición musical.
