I just put on a set of Savarez 510 AR and the trebles seem to have more tension than another guitar I have with the same strings. Both guitars are the same except one has spruce top and the other cedar. The spruce top which is new to me seems to have higher tension. Both are set up the same. Any explanation for what might be going on?

Do they have different length scales? That would explain it, provided the guitar with the feel of higher tension is the one with the longer scale.

My bad. the nut slots were not quite deep enough to my liking. That fixed the problem. Amazing how such a microscopic bit of filing can affect the feel.
