Does any member have first-hand experience (they have tried with their own hands) any flamenco guitars from this constructor? I watched some of Solera Flamencas videos with these guitars and they sound really good, but of-course the audio is enhanced digitally so I prefer hearing from someone who actually tested one.

They are in fact extremely good guitars. I tried a flamenco guitar of his and was impressed in every regard. Basically he takes a lot of inspiration from Daniele Chiesa but focusing on flamenco.

I think personal producer usually make incredible guitars but sometimes their guitar have some differences between their best guitar and normal. You need to try them and select the guitar you want. [:)]

I played one here and it was good but nothing special. Don´t expect something close to Reyes

I am not aware of guitars made by young makers you can associate with Reyes. the guitars made by Quintanilla are more in the style of Granada.

not sure , i think i saw something of his with somekind of cosmetic issue (at least) , varnish issue or colour ? i cant recall i think he was making them in Cadiz or Malaga at the time. i would guess that it was one of his firsts

Being a trained luthier I can tell you his guitars are planned thoughtfully and made extremely well. You can find the superior quality some Granada makers are famous for: properly cut wood, hhg, hand made rosettes, well thought proportions and doming, precise execution. Such things don’t necessarily pour into a superior sounding guitar. Not at all. Yet it’s a plus and something may concur to the final result. There’s no such a thing like the perfect guitar. It really depends by your idea of sound and by the actual guitar: in this sense a Quintanilla is quite far from a Reyes or a Gerundino, I agree. BTW I consider the gutars of Reyes quite hyped: they have clear qualities and got famous for their unique blend but many of them (and for sure the couple I tried) are nothing special.

Thanks for the replies. I tried several Conde Atocha but none were to my liking. Lots of variability between the ones I tried. Almost every Conde from FelipeV that I tried (except two - 1992 and 1986) was superb, none of them were for sale though. I guess the way the ones at FelipeV were made suits my hands and they were all very balanced sound with strong mid-range. For Quintanilla, the reason I was interested was this video - though of-course there is lots of audio enhancement on the recording so one cannot get a true idea of the raw sound:

Here is Pedro Sierra playing a Quintanilla: the tone is much more representative of what the guitar sounds like imho. It's a powerful guitar but quite different from a Conde style guitar. Alberto Fernandez /the player of the video you attached) is a Conde guy and plays regularly a Javier Castano, which in my view could be more suitable to your taste.

Abraham Ortega has that kind of sound "trademark" with his Cedar guitars . Seems very similar .
