Usually we play free stroke arpegio. How about rest stroke arpegio?
I read somewhere on the foro V. Amigo plays arpegio apoyando.
Any thoughts on rest stroke arp in terms of sound and speed?

It’s hard to do fast and clean like Vicente. I never found it worth the priority to practice versus other techniques. Other option is to just rest stroke on the ring finger to try and emulate Vicente.

Forgot already? We hashed this out thanks your inquiry 4 years ago.

My favorite quote from the above thread was to you from Chester:

The mechanics of tirando (arpeggio) and apoyando (picado) are not exactly the same. But more similar than I thought.

lol. more similar than you "thought"?

the way you write makes me think you play guitar only on sundays and spend the rest of the week thinking/fantasizing about what it's "like".

on the other hand your questions seem to really get people's panties bunched up so please go on

Why are you still asking about this?

have you completed tirando arpeggio?[:D]

why is a beginner asking about such things? arent you content to learn regular arpeggios?

But this thread didn't answer my question above. A good read though.

More or less completed.
I was practicing arpegio with ring finger rest stroke without knowing my index and middle fingers can easily play rest strokes as well.
I thought I could integrate rest stroke arpegio into my practice routine.
As JasonM mentioned it doesnt seem worth it.
To me, soundwise no advantage over free stroke arpegio.

Lets see your proof!?[;)]

3/4 years playing flamenco? and you think youve mastered it?

You question was general-so it absolutely answers
It in detail with specifics. The basic thing is if you
Want the notes to ring against each other you have
To do tirando, as apoyando stops the adjacent notes.
At fast speeds that might not matter. Also apoyando
Might project a bit more volume wise.

Do you think rest stroke arpegio can be useful for amiP amiP... (ami all rest stroke and P down)?
As we know adjacent notes are not affected by apoyando in ami.
