ok but about actual co-ordinating the right and left hand? Nobody seems to address that and I struggle there the most. I cannot co-ordinate my right and left hand even at 120bpm triplets.

You have to first make sure you can control the isolated hands and patterns. For Left, you can do ligados or slurs where you only articulate say the beat accent notes and the rest is on the LH to get it all clear and clean with the click. That might reveal little spots that will be off when it comes to coordination. But for most of us, it is the right hand fighting which finger, index or middle is the leader. Especially for triplets where the role of leader is passed over to the other finger every group of 3 notes. I trouble shoot this idea in the Guajiras tutorial I gave (Paco tutorial 6), where I have to drill the specific number of notes on each string. For example a basic ascending scale might have this combo from 6th to first string:3,3,3,2,3,3. And it is the spot between 3 and 2 that break the pattern and coordination goes out the window. So I will drill just that spot over and over until my right hand can switch strings fast enough. THEN I will go back and apply the LH notes, knowing what my speed limit is.

The chicuelo picado is the one on his encuentro cantinas.
There are two in that piece.

Hi Stu
I think Manuel Valencia is playing a version of Chicuelo's falseta in this performance last month? Sounds like even he gets a little hung up at the awkward i crossing towards the end of the picado run?
Falseta at 18:01 picado at 18:20

Maybe see you tomorrow at Israel Fernandez.

That falseta is the longer picado run which I had trouble with once. Think I used the kitarist work around suggestion in the end.

Manuel been playing this falseta for years! I love it.

The intro one is the killer! With the 2x double ii. Actually been practicing with the double I drags and I think it makes it easier. Supposev it would do right? Hence the reason it's tabbed like that.

Yes, will see you on Sunday! Gonna try to say hi to Richard too. But also meeting a chap I met in sanlucar last year for a drink and chat about making music!
