ORIGINAL: metalhead ok but about actual co-ordinating the right and left hand? Nobody seems to address that and I struggle there the most. I cannot co-ordinate my right and left hand even at 120bpm triplets. You have to first make sure you can control the isolated hands and patterns. For Left, you can do ligados or slurs where you only articulate say the beat accent notes and the rest is on the LH to get it all clear and clean with the click. That might reveal little spots that will be off when it comes to coordination. But for most of us, it is the right hand fighting which finger, index or middle is the leader. Especially for triplets where the role of leader is passed over to the other finger every group of 3 notes. I trouble shoot this idea in the Guajiras tutorial I gave (Paco tutorial 6), where I have to drill the specific number of notes on each string. For example a basic ascending scale might have this combo from 6th to first string:3,3,3,2,3,3. And it is the spot between 3 and 2 that break the pattern and coordination goes out the window. So I will drill just that spot over and over until my right hand can switch strings fast enough. THEN I will go back and apply the LH notes, knowing what my speed limit is.
