How do you shape your thumb nail? My thumb nail looks round because I let it grow naturally. But I think a rounded shape is not the right one. During pulgar technique I attack strings at 80-90 degree angle. Do I need a ramp? Does it affect my thumb rest stroke when I play arpegio and tremolo?

Interesting. Did we talk about this one the different stairs for different techs thread? I don't think we did.

Mines kinda rounded but sloped on the outside edge.

I think I'm happy with it... But maybe not

Mine are rounded on every finger, but it really depends on your technique. Basically what you want to achieve is that your nail doesn't get caught in the string but you still have enough to create the tone you want.
Ricardo goes into detail in more than one thread here, I recommend you search those topics.

I've changed my mind. A rounded shape is the way to go because thumb attacks at different angles between 30 and 90 degrees depending on the technique.
For arps and tremolo we need 30-45 degree angle. For thumb only technique almost 90 degree angle. Sometimes even less depending on the situation. For PI somewhere between the two.
So it's better to have a rounded shape?
