'Tis the season of giving - but if you're anything like me, a few gifts for yourself sneak into your gifts for others !!!

Is anyone planning on gifting themselves any flamenco goodies, like

- lessons with a great flamenco teacher (yes, we have some of the best right on this forum : )

- online video streaming lessons

- flamenco music books

- a day off from work just to play, practice, or listen to your favorite flamenco pieces

Best,
Joe

this is a cool idea!

I was considering getting myself a yearly studio hire so i can go and practice at least once a week to my hearts content. away from crazy kids and wife!

my wife keeps asking me about what i want for xmas and Im racking my brains to think of some kind of affordable flamenco based present.

I'm considering flights to Andalucia for the whole family next summer!
one of those present that purports to be for the family i love but is actually for me!hehe

Like homer simpson buying Marge a bowling ball for her birthday![:D]

Just ordered a guitar from a luthier in Sevilla. The guitar will be finished by Christmas.🎄

They will build a full guitar in a few days then ship it so it arrives at Christmas? [:D] I think estebanana would have an eyeroll moment, but we once had that guy Sedan build a full guitar in 2 weeks, minus the varnish. That was pretty impressive. Good luck!

Stephen Eden makes (AFAIK) 2 "estudio" type models, the "Cadenza" classical and the "Soleá" flamenco.

These are around half the price of his standard concert guitars - the low cost and fast build time are achieved by not making a decorative rosette or any of the other pretty inlay stuff, and by much less french polishing - they only have simple bindings, a concentric circle rosette, and basic french polish.

The woods, construction, sound and playability are the same as his equivalent concert guitars, but the aesthetic has been described as "brutally minimalist" [:D]

here some pics from his website:

- I think the quote about "cojones" came from the dance teacher I play for[:D]

thread about my 2020 Soleá blanca with pics here, and further down a couple of videos, Steve also chips in:

The guitar will stay in Spain until I come in March.
