Why not? Last time I was in a studio, we had 3 guitars to choose: Gerundindo, Reyes and Conde. Live, the Gerundino destroyed the Reyes: the Reyes destoyed the Conde. With the micro and listening for the recording, the Conde destroyed the Reyes and the Gerundindo. So we recorded with the Conde. I cannot understand why Condes have a bad press among amateurs: most profesionals play them, for various reasons. Bedroom players have to have the very best, without understanding why, when they seldom play in public.

I have a pair of Conde I find supreme but it’s fair to say there are also many dogs around labeled as Conde. The right Conde is still the best option for me probably with a good pick from an old Gerundino or Ramirez. Similar story for Ramirez: there are some really great old Ramirez in the 2nd hand market but it looks like the brand lost it’s shine for the average customer. Not too bad.
