These are the guitars from the Urlik book “A Collection of Fine Spanish Guitars from Torres to the Present”. Matter of fact, the website is basically the book, so I hope it stays up even after the collection is sold as there’s a lot of valuable information and measurements to be found in the links. It’s quite the collection.

But, man, those estimates! I got a nosebleed just reading them!

Right, here's an article about that book and him:

Obviously Brune’s assessments are driving the market prices. Probably a good thing as I realize my Hauser 2 has gone up considerably since the Christie’s auction thing that happened years ago. (Same guitar year 1968 as mine appraised at 15k but sold at 37K. Brune has the 62 at 65k years back, now 85k). Based on pics and recording, the guitar I liked on that book list was the 1912 Ramirez. Wonder who bought it?

Prices are above the real market price for almost all the flamenco guitars of the collection imho.

I owned a Hernandez y Aguado flamenco, 1959, inscribed to Montoya by H y A, that I purchased from Carlos Montoya in 1959 ($350 to me; stupid teenager who knew nothing about fine guitars). I still regret letting it go; it was an awesome guitar, and I did not know how awesome. It was the first and only flamenco guitar i had in my hands for many years. I do have some fine guitars but miss that first one.
