The play was written as a hypothetical discussion between Manuel de Falla and Garcia Lorca, in order to present their biographies, music, and some flamenco drama. The reason I posted off topic is because the actor who played Ashford in the Expanse played Manuela de Falla’s character. The flamenco singer I was working with sang Salvadora by Caracol when the “duende” discussion appeared, I accompanied him por Bulerias 3 por Arriba, his wife Sonia danced. you kept that quiet - hiding your light under a bushel again?! I don’t typically advertise local gigs unless they are special for some reason. Honestly this “play” I was not so sure about as there was only discussions on zoom about it. The rehearsal would be Monday, Tuesday tech, then Wednesday showtime. It was very improvised. On Monday when Ashford came through the door I freaked out, and quickly started advertising to all my friends. But honestly, the actor is very famous but just like on Foro, not many people know about that show/character so it was still not a big deal really. The point of the play was simply that the local chamber orchestra could once again perform the Falla music rep they have in a different context. We had just done the same music at the museum for the Sargent exhibit a few months back (I brought it up when we discussed the Jaleo painting).
