When I recorded Juan Silva, he was regarded as the best saetero de Cádiz.
The following Semana Santa, we met in Plaza San Francisco at 10 o´clock for a quick cerveza, where he was to sing to the Cristo. When the procession continued, we hurried through streets alrededor to arrive at the next bar, before the procession, where Juan had another cerveza and sang another saeta. This patron continued, bar after bar, saeta after saeta until 4 in the morning, and breakfast in a bar nearby.
Semana Santa is a cachondeo total but it moves a lot of money.
