Glad you liked my new album, Meat y claw. I was thinking I’ve been pretty washed up for the last 15 years.. lol!
Saludos, Chicuelo

Jason, I dont know how long you've had your profile pic. Never seen Chicuelo like this before. A bit overweight and wide. Still my fav avatar on the foro though.

Hello members! So I started this thread under OkFlamenco as I couldn’t access my Doitsujin account.

If you know more flamenco guitar music of the last 10 years thats good. Please keep it coming! :-) Chicuelo definitely had cool stuff. Antonio Rey as well. But then there isnt much from top players.

I hope Ricardo is wrong and this is not the result of streaming platforms and piracy.. Most top flamenco guitar music are studio compositions. Look at Agua dulce of Tomatito. He never players this stuff live. Same for many other great compositions and players.

If albums are dying out - good music is dying out..

Please share anything you got!

Also I like Pakete, pretty jazzy though if you like

@ AndresK

Thank you for the hint on Jeronimo Maya! He is a baller player. I will get this album as well :-) Cant wait to enjoy it!

EDIT: After listening through it.. Jeronimo is a crazy player - but imo he has horribly bad taste for composing... His strokes are great but I feel nothing for his compositions in general. Well, its personal and subjective though.

Just found a nice album by "Juan el Flaco" "Suena Flemenco". Many tracs with altered tuning and good feeling.

Another very interesting album by Nino Josele: Galaxias

Come on guys! Seriously no more suggestions? Cant be that everyone is stuck in the past?! 10 years in past should be far enough without being too nostalgic ;-)

Keep it coming! Cant be that people of a flamenco forum are not interested in modern flamenco guitar music. (Nino Joseles is more Jazzy - nevertheless worth to add here. Very interesting bulerias on it).

Another fantastic player with unfortuately only 2 tracks?!...

Nino Seve - great player fantastic compositions. I wish he would have a full album (without stressful singers.. sorry guys.. I cant do that to my ears.. ).

Found another great album with top flamenco guitar:

2018 of Dani de Moron called 21.

Unfortunately much singing on it. well.. too bad. But the guitar is top at least.

JasonM -> RE: Good flamenco guitar CDs since ~2013 until 2023 (Feb. 28 2023 16:08:49)

Was going to suggest that one but you said you didn't want a lot of singing...

Maybe a little past 10 years but just in case. One of the biggest albums in the past 20 years:

For guitar fans. Antonio Sánchez has just released an album. Also El Perla has been releasing tracks the past few months. I don't listen to much solo guitar. I really like El Perla accompanying but nothing here seems that inspired?
