Hi all, my kids want me to take them bowling over the holidays and last time I took them all the nails on my right hand got obliterated. Anyone got any tips on how avoid a repeat? The only thing I can think of is so far is bowling left-handed [:D] (which is unfortunately likely to result in accusations of me ruining it due to the embarassing lack of skill!)

I broke my nails in bowling when I was 17. Have not played since and I am 40. Bowling is not so popular where I live so not a problem. If my son makes me go sometime in the future, I will definitely go left handed.

Maybe there is some type of rubber glove? Or use some type of tape with not such a strong glue? Or maybe follow some of the other suggestions that will follow and will definitely be from more experienced bowlers.

Very dangerous…you don’t even feel it happening. Never ever ever ever freaking go bowling period.

Hi,

try to find a duckpin track. This is like bowling, but think there are no holes it the ball.

Well, it seems you call em "duckpin lanes". Available around NY an Philadelphia, otherwise if in Europe, you may find KEGELBAHNEN in the Netherlands or Germany.

My eldest has gone down with a bad cold so I think I have swerved this for the moment, but that looks like a good option once he's feeling better - thanks a lot guys.
