I'm Scott, and glad to be here, mostly as a lurker for the moment. I did browse through old lutherie posts and hope to take advantage of the expertise so freely available. For over forty years I worked mostly on harpsichords, plus the museum care of musical instruments and other artifacts. Since retirement I've been playing banjo in a New England contradance group, now "Covid-stalled" alas. So I decided to go back to a first love, flamenco guitar. I had the privilege of hanging out in Manuel de la Chica Garcia's shop across the street from the Alhambra, off and on for a few weeks in 1958. I recently acquired a 1966 Manuel de la Chica blanca from an old friend whose father had roots in Spain during the late '30s. Although playable it has much too high a string action and I'll welcome thoughts on the "what next" - playability versus preservation of original features.
