From the Guitarras Ramirez website: "Pronto se independizó y en 1882 abrió su taller. Primero estuvo en el Rastro y más tarde en la calle Concepción Jerónima número 2." Speaking of Jose Ramirez I, the great-grandfather of the present head of Guitarras Ramirez, "Soon he set up his own shop in 1882. At first it was in the Rastro, and later in Concepción Jerónima 2." I visited the shop in Concepción Jerónima several times in the 1960s-70s while Jose Ramirez III was the proprietor. They moved from there to Calle de la Paz 8, where I visited a time or two. 17 Calle de Pizarro is a few kilometers from any of the places cited above, the only locations of Guitarras Ramirez. I conclude that the guitar was not made in the workshop of the famous business Guitarras Ramirez, nor was it one of the less expensive factory guitars that they sold under various labels with their name and endorsement.
