henrym3483 -> alzapua question (Mar. 6 2006 13:50:11)

hi everyone,

i been having a few problems with the alzapua techs im training at the moment.

the techniques im working on are based on oscar herreros 2nd dvd. my middle and ring finger are getting somwhat tender at the ends due to the rapid golpe alzapua strike, do you have to build up callouses to do this tech?plus this minute twist of the wrist thing is catching the muscles long the side of my arm near the bone, is this normal or just over exertion on my part?

its just when i see oscar hands do this technique at speed it seems anatomically impossible.

First question - no, no more than you need callouses to tap your fingers on the table. It is a light, quick movement. Maybe you are tapping too hard?

Also, you should be contacting with your nail as well as your fingertip, the nail will give the golpe more definition (as well as sharing the impact with your fingertip).

Not use what you mean with the muscles , but doesn't sound good. You shouldn't be getting any discomfort around the elbow or anywhere else for that matter.
