Would you consider buying new Jeff Sigurdson blanca for $1500? I know someone who has 2 of those for sale..

You know its funny...I am from Vancouver Canada, and for two years I worked two doors down from Jeff Sigurdsons work shop in a town called Langley. Right before I left to Costa Rica I met him, but now I kick myself for not buying one. A friend of mine has one and it sounds incredible. I believe he paid about 1800 canadian dollars. Oh well![:(]

I recently purchased one of his "blancgra" guitars (half cypress/half rosewood) and am very happy with it.

Victor,
I plan to be in Vancouver this summer. Any things I should be checking out over there, in terms of the scene? Any connections you can pass on to a fellow forumite?

Absolutely...

There is a place called Kino Cafe on Cambie St. and about 17th Ave. They have flamenco there 6 days a week. One of the guys that plays and sings is a friend of mine. When you are about to go I can give you his name in a private message. There are also quite a few dance studios. I never went to any, but I have seen the dancers that have come from these places and they're all quite good. There is a dance teacher called Cassandra who is unbelievable; you can see her dance at this cafe.

Other than that, checking out www.flamenco.ca for upcoming events and links. Also check out www.penabuleria.com. This site was organized by a Persian guy that I also met at the cafe. He brings in people from Spain for concerts, and is definatley someone worth meeting. He also sings quite well and plays guitar too.

I can also give you detailed directions on getting to Jeff Sigurdsons shop, as it can be a little tricky to get there. He's in a very industrial part of Langley, just off the highway. Not a fancy location at all. (must be cheap rent!)

Hope this helps. Just make sure you're there in the summer....rains too much in the winter!

Uh, there´s much to choose from in that range, and I havent found anything interesting on Ebay with the name of José Ramirez. Just classicals.

I have a 2A for sale.

Un saludo
Anders

How would a Jeff Sigurdson blanca compare with a Pedro de Miguel? I have this particular one in mind:

The model 27f.

I'm completely biased
<----- (that's my guitar over there)

I'd say that you'd be hard pressed to find better than a Sigurdson in that price range, especially when compared to a factory-made guitar. (that is if you are in N. America, if not don't waste any time with anything but one of Anders' guitars)

The 2A is a Blanca.

I will upload a photo and some description, but I´m a bit busy right now and cannot block the tlf. line. (country = modem..... ADSL in a couple of weeks[:D][:D])
