better than the normal EJ45/46?

A friend of me had these strings on his guitar. But Im not 100% shure. He had new strings which were very smooth. I mean the metall ones. I think they were not good for flamenco, coz if the string is too smooth the thumb-tone isnt so good anymore. I prefer Luthier or DÁddario 45.
